Have Your Say: “The Magic Is Not There Any More” For Spurs

We were fantastic for about half an hour but it was staggering how quickly the energy seemed to drain from the players at around the 35 minute mark. Changes should have been made at half time. Dele (who should never have started IMO) should have been taken off with N’Dombele, who is a fantastic player but he seems to only have half an hour in his legs at the moment. It is hard to know why the fitness levels are nowhere near where they used to be. I suspect it is because some of the players do not believe in Poch any more.

The decision not to play a defensive midfielder cost us badly last night. I think that was a big mistake.

I now believe that none of the players in the last year of their contract should play. Nor should the players that we wanted to sell. These are the players who have performed so badly in the Premier League since February. In the last 18 premier league games, we have only beaten Palace, Brighton, Huddersfield, Southampton and Villa and all of them at home. That is close to relegation form. We will get nowhere near the top four if we continue dividing the squad with this policy.

Let’s be honest, Rose, Toby, Eriksen, Wanyama and Jan are nowhere near the levels they were once at and Aurier is an embarrassment. What must Lamela think, possibly having his best run of form in a Spurs shirt only to be left out for either Eriksen, who is shocking at the moment and Dele who is a mere shadow of the player he once was.

Levy has clearly taken his eye off the ball with regards to contracts and signings and this is costing us dear right now. We need another rebuild, I wonder if Poch is up for it especially knowing he has to deal with Levy who appears to do the minimum possible to keep him happy.

We have a wonderful new stadium but surely that should go hand in hand with investment in the team, otherwise what is the point. Levy has relied on Poch working his magic to keep us competitive but the magic is not there any more.
